Former blues club Bourbon Street answered the demand for a cozy, yet classy venue back in 1990. It wouldn’t take long before locals, tourists, students and musicians found their way to the Leidsekruisstraat. A few years ago, Bourbon Street decided to branch out into other styles of music, making it the place to be for live music of nearly any genre.

About Bourbon Street Amsterdam

Former blues club Bourbon Street answered the demand for a cozy, yet classy venue back in 1990. It wouldn’t take long before locals, tourists, students and musicians found their way to the Leidsekruisstraat. A few years ago, Bourbon Street branched out into other styles of music, making it the place to be for live music of nearly any genre.

On September 21st 1990, Ricardo Reeberg and Bert Hendriks gave birth to Bourbon Street Live Music Amsterdam Club. After having served as a discotheque where Ricardo and Bert had worked for many years, it was time for a change. At the time, there was clearly a need for a live music Amsterdam cafe, with originality and a unique character.

Through the years, Bourbon Street has had the privilege to welcome some of the biggest names in music. From local heroes like Herman Brood and Hans Dulfer, to worldwide superstars such as Sting, ZZ Top, Joss Stone, Tower Of Power, Toto and B.B. King. Amsterdam is a very musical town, that goes beyond saying. And the countless talented musicians that populate our nation’s capital all flock to Bourbon Street, making it a unique musical melting pot.

High quality bands, friendly bar-staff and that unequivocally casual atmosphere you can only find in Amsterdam. No wonder the crowds at Bourbon Street are always made up of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds. Good music is universal. Come on down and experience it for yourself!
