TURBULENCE

This Jamaican reggae-star, who comfortably switches from dance-hall to a more pop-like R&B-sound, has over the years emerged quietly onto the reggae scene, with his first album dating back to 2000. His breakthrough record however, proved to be a major hit. Notorious (2004) topped dance-hall charts in both in his native ‘Jam-Rock’, as in New York, London and Japan.

His music reached a mainstream audience by being featured as one of the artists in Luciano Blotta’s documentary Rise Up, which became a considerable success at various international documentary-festivals around the world, such as IDFA and Hot Docs.

Turbulence currently tours the world over, in support of his latest record, The Journey. This 2010 release was received with great enthusiasm and catapulted the talented Rastafari to the very top of roots reggae, where he is currently seen as the rightful successor of Sizzla and Capleton. His substantial catalog includes collaborations with the likes of Warrior King, Diana Rutherford and Prince Javed.
