LIBER TORRIENTE

Cuban drummer extraordinaire, Liber Torriente began his musical journey in Cuba, where he became drummer for the country’s top salsa orchestra (NG‑La Banda) at just 18 years old. After moving to the Netherlands in the early 2000s, he quickly made a name for himself as one of Europe’s most sought-after Latin jazz and Afro-Cuban drummers.

Over the years, Liber has brought his masterful drumming to a wide variety of ensembles, from intimate jazz trios to powerful salsa orchestras. He has collaborated with eminent names in Latin jazz, contributing to projects such as the band Ramon Valle Trio, as well as groups like Nueva Manteca and many others that fuse jazz harmony with Afro-Cuban grooves.
